Warlock overview
The Warlock has the lowest starting health (165) and opens with Shadow Bolt. Its strength builds over time: Corruption and Curse of Agony stack on everything chasing you, Drain Life heals, and Demonology fills the screen with demons, including a Felhunter or Voidwalker that fights for you for good.
Strengths
- Damage over time stacks on whole crowds
- Demons fight for you in Demonology
- Drain Life and Siphon Life provide healing
Watch out for
- Lowest starting health (165)
- Damage over time is slow to kill the first waves
Warlock spell pool
Every level-up deals three cards. A new spell card takes one of your 6 spell slots; an upgrade card improves a spell you already know and ranks it up. Card rarity (Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, Legendary) decides how strong the bonus is. These are the 12 spells the Warlock can be offered:
- Shadow BoltStarting spell
- CorruptionEarly pick
- Immolate
- Curse of AgonyEarly pick
- Rain of FireEarly pick
- HellfireEarly pick
- Death Coil
- Searing Pain
- Drain LifeEarly pick
- Fear
- Soul Fire
- Demonic Empowerment
Early picks are our suggestions for a first run. Spells cast on their own: you only move, and each spell fires when it is off cooldown and enemies are in range.
Warlock talent trees
Talents are permanent and per class. Every run pays your Warlocks talent experience (time survived, kills, bosses, a win, and more in harder zones); the first point arrives at 80 experience and a class can earn 51 points. A new row opens for every 5 points spent in a tree, and the milestones at 10, 20 and 30 points change how your spells behave. Respecs are free, and the Armory keeps three specs.
Values written as X grow with each rank; the game shows the exact number when you point at a talent. Use theWarlock talent calculator to plan points.

- Demonic Supremacy
- You can no longer summon Imps, Felhunters, Voidwalkers or Succubi: your Demonic Familiar, Soul Devourer, Soul Link and Legion Gate bring no demons while you have it. Your Infernal and Doomguard, if you have their talents, stay for good instead, one of each, and deal X% more damage.
- Summon Infernal
- Each damaging spell you cast has a 5% chance to bring an Infernal crashing down among your foes for 15 sec, if none is out. It stuns what it lands on, and burns all around it with your Hellfire (its ranks, talents and pace, and your area) at X% of its power.
- Summon Doomguard

- Pact of the Annihilan
- Each damaging spell you cast has a X% chance to summon a Pit Lord for 12 sec, sure by the 10th. It hurls Felseeker, a far stronger Searing Pain that grows with your Searing Pain's ranks. Once every 40 sec at most, and never sooner than 7.5 sec after it leaves. Rules out Butcher.
- Butcher
- Each damaging spell you cast has a X% chance to summon a Felguard for 20 sec, sure by the 10th. Its swings cleave every enemy around its target, wider with your area, and every third swing deals 200% damage. It attacks faster by your cooldown reduction, and 35% faster against a target below 30% health. Each swing gives you 0.2 Soul Shards, at most 2 a second. It goes for the weakest boss or elite near you first. Once every 40 sec at most, and never sooner than 7.5 sec after it leaves. Rules out Pact of the Annihilan.

Full racial list: races and racials.
Warlock gear set and weapons
Bosses drop Warlock gear that stays with the class for good: 54 pieces across nine slots and six rarities, from Elwynn Forest commons to Naxxramas legendaries. The set name changes with each tier:
Weapon line:
Where each tier drops: gear and drop tables.
A first Warlock run
Tag as many enemies as possible with damage over time while you keep running, and let them die behind you. Fear and Death Coil buy space.
Pick a race from the list above, enter Elwynn Forest, and aim to see the first boss, Hogger, at 3:00. Even a short run pays talent experience. Compare with the other classes: Warrior, Paladin, Hunter, Rogue, Priest, Shaman, Mage, Druid.
FAQ
How much health does the Warlock start with in Azeroth Survivors?
165 health. That is #9 of 9 classes; the range runs from 165 (Warlock) to 245 (Paladin). Every level then adds 9 maximum health, 3% damage and 0.08 health per second.
What spell does the Warlock start with?
Shadow Bolt. Every level-up deals three cards from the Warlock's 12-spell pool, and a new spell takes one of 6 spell slots.
What are the Warlock capstone talents?
Seed of Corruption (Affliction), Pact of the Annihilan (Demonology), Butcher (Demonology), Rain of Chaos (Destruction). A capstone needs 30 points in its tree; a class can earn 51 talent points in total.
Which race is best for a Warlock?
There is no fixed best race, but Orc and Undead and Gnome have the most useful racials for this class: Hardiness (+10% max health) and Blood Fury for damage windows.
Is the Warlock good for beginners?
We rate it Hard to learn. Low health or melee range make early mistakes costly; play a Warrior or Paladin first if you want an easier start. This is our assessment of starting health, range and self-protection, not a win-rate ranking.
